countries have a vast range of stories and events to share as their experiences are juxtaposed between their old war-torn country and new home country, emphasised through “‘So gleaming spick-and-span clean! Such beautiful food! Such pretty packages’…she thinks about life in Vietnam, she sees her father sleeping on the floor of the monastery, her mother selling bancao at the market,” depicting the privileges that individuals have in developed countries and the unfortunate poverty that families are experiencing in developing countries. |
